At Genesis ELC, we aim to create a nurturing and loving environment where each child is respected, embraced and celebrated for who they are. A place where every child can feel confident to gather, giggle and grow! In line with the Early Years Learning Framework, our philosophy

We believe our educators endeavour to build strong, safe and loving relationships with children. Children feel secure and supported to be themselves and explore their world through positive and engaging interactions. We are committed to addressing and celebrating the diverse backgrounds, cultures and traditions of the community and building an inclusive and supportive environment where each child and family is embraced and respected. Educators make decisions that uphold children’s rights, promote inclusion and provide opportunities to interact positively with others.
Child wellbeing is our utmost priority working through a holistic approach to build and enhance their developmental needs. Looking at each child’s emotional, physical, social, spiritual and cognitive aspects, children are equipped to be confident and capable in their ongoing journey as active contributors of their world. Educators develop meaningful and intentional learning programs that consider each child’s interests, understandings and uniqueness.

Children are curious and enthusiastic in participating fully and actively in society. Our school readiness approach starts from the moment your child enters our doors. By the time they reach our preschool class, they have been building skills like self help, self regulation, concentration, motor skills and language via our programs that begin in our youngest age group.
Why wait? All children can benefit from implementing these skills in a developmentally appropriate way. Once they are of preschool age, these fundamental skills will help them get the most out of our concentrated group time and Preschool program. Our approach is holistic and covers academics, movement, self help skills and emotional regulation.

Our Explorers begin their learning and development by building foundational relationships with their educators and peers. We believe development is rapid in the first two years of life and that children learn by doing. Therefore they are engaged in experiences that will encourage looking, hearing, touching, grasping, and sucking.
We aim to provide the best support and stimulus for our babies from the moment they begin their journey with us. As they grow, they will continue to explore their environment further developing their cognitive, social, emotional, physical development, and communication skills with the use of open-ended resources, throughout daily routines, and continuous scaffolding by educators and older peers.

Our Investigators do just that, Investigate! They are developing confidence and independence and learning new skills in many different areas. They are ready to do everything for themselves and we aim to foster this lifelong learning skill by encouraging self-help skills, toilet training when ready, building friendships, and language skills through play and group interactions.
As they come closer to their third birthday they will begin their transition to our 3-5 years room spending some quality time engaging in play and small group times so they are ready to move once they turn three.

Our Philosophers are learning big things! Through structured and unstructured play they are building confidence, learning about the world, and developing social, language, and communication skills while learning about their environment and caring for others. Our Philosophers begin their journey to Kindergarten from the moment they walk into the room, with our educators fostering their love for learning, self-help skills, emotional regulation, and concentration and ensuring they are safe, secure, and supported throughout their years before they transition to Kindergarten. Our School Readiness program incorporates small group times extended with hands-on, play-based learning to encourage the development of real-world concepts needed for Kindergarten.
